Poco Dolce

02 February 2011

Poco Dolce means "little sweet" or "not too sweet" and what an appropriate name for Kathy Wiley's pioneering chocolate company that is. She crafts ever-so-slightly savory chocolates from the best ingredients available at her factory in the quaintly named neighborhood of Dogpatch in San Francisco.

As we contemplated launching a new chocolatier for our online store, Poco Dolce stood out for one simple reason - no matter how much we order, we ALWAYS sell out...every bar, box and tin.

NEW! Popcorn Toffee from Poco Dolce

It's one of our favorite snacks when we go to the movies - a handful of popcorn and a handful of chocolate - the salty/sweet/buttery combination is a nearly perfect one.

So when we heard that Kathy Wiley from Poco Dolce had come up with something called Popcorn Toffee, you better believe we wanted to taste. She's taken her already incredible crunchy and buttery toffee and folded in freshly-popped popcorn. Once the toffee is set, she enrobes the two-bite square in decadent bittersweet chocolate.

The adorable tin is perfectly sized for passing around, but be sure you're at the FRONT of the line or you just might miss out!

Order a tin of Popcorn Toffee now for $17.00

NEW! Bittersweet Bars from Poco Dolce

The new line of Bittersweet Bars is made by folding fresh ingredients right into the warm chocolate - the flavorings emulsify into the chocolate and the result is an incredibly smooth, luxurious bar that is just a little sweet...

Choose from these five varieties or save $5.00 and order all five!

  • Bittersweet with Sea Salt - the classic bittersweet bar with grey sea salt from Brittany.
  • Olive Oil with Sea Salt - fresh California extra virgin olive oil is melded with bittersweet chocolate and a kiss of sea salt.
  • Peanut Butter - this is our favorite...smooth, creamy peanut butter and bittersweet chocolate with sea salt.
  • Hazelnut - another inventive combination...Oregon hazelnut butter combined with bittersweet chocolate and a dash of salt.
  • Five Spice - the warm spices and heat of the Sichuan peppercorns create a complex flavor that really shines.

Order a single bar for $7.00 or all five for $30.00

From the Weekend Today Show's What to Eat in 2011

Just before this past weekend, we got word that Dana Cowin of Food & Wine Magazine would be on the Sunday morning edition of the Today Show talking about new food trends and she was going to bring a sample of our Primitivizia Wild Herb Pestos along!

We love the host's thoughts on the Broccolo di Santa Massenza - "WOW! It's like a piece of broccoli hit me across the face!"

If you haven't read up on these unique and delicious pestos, click here to check out the newsletter from late 2010.
