NEW! Dark Fruitcake from Robert Lambert

Johnny Carson once said, "The worst gift is a fruitcake. There is only one fruitcake in the entire world, and people keep sending it to each other." If there could only be one fruitcake in the entire world we would want it to be Robert Lambert's Dark Fruitcake. And, we guarantee that you will want it all to yourself.

These petite loaves are packed full of Robert's exotic candied fruit and local nuts, wrapped in cheesecloth and soaked in Jack Daniels Bourbon. The combination of glacéed cherries, dark raisins, currants, Kadrawi dates, prunes, pear brandy soaked figs, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, coconut, candied young ginger, bergamot, blood orange, Buddha's hand citron & Texas lemon peels makes this truly the fruitcake among fruitcakes.

Garnished with a candied blood orange star and California bay leaf, this cake makes the ultimate hostess gift. Robert suggests serving the fruitcake slightly chilled, cutting into thin slices that resemble stained glass. We like to pair it with a glass of port after a meal. Robert only makes a limited amount of these labor-of-love cakes each year.

The Pasta Shop Fruitcake

We know we said Robert Lambert's Dark Fruitcake was to die for, but we wouldn't do the fruitcake lovers-of-the-world justice without mentioning this delicious one too. The Pasta Shop's Fruitcake is an old fashioned version of the brandy-laced cake, studded with nuts and dried fruit. Many a skeptic has been converted based on this sweet and bready treat. We've increased the number baked 7 years in a row...that's got to tell you something! Our cake is very traditional, baked full of currants, raisins, figs, apricots, candied ginger, walnuts, pecans, and orange and lemon zest. There's not much else to say, other than trust us. These cakes are baked in-house at The Pasta Shop in Oakland, California.
