Classic Fettuccine Alfredo

One of the items on a grocery store shelf by which we're most befuddled is jarred Alfredo sauce. Without naming brand names, these are just a few ingredients that don't belong in Alfredo - xanthan gum, corn syrup solids, soybean oil, modified egg yolks. Why bother when it's so simple to make!

Using colatura di alici (anchovy syrup) rather than anchovies or anchovy paste is quick and easy and gives this Caesar dressing wonderful, mouthwatering richness.

Sausage Ragù

on Monday, 16 December 2013. Posted in Pasta & Grains, Recipes, Sauces & Condiments

When you don't have time for one of those wonderfully complex but slow-cooking ragùs, try this wonderful quick version made with sausage, tomato paste and milk.

This is our absolute favorite way to use sweet and tart Pomegrantate Blood Orange Syrup. Without a doubt...the best fruit salad ever.

Yuzu Mayonnaise

on Monday, 16 December 2013. Posted in Recipes, Sauces & Condiments

This zesty mayo makes a beautiful dipping sauce for fried seafood, like shrimp or scallops. It's also delicious slathered on toasted bread for a fried fish sandwich.

Ponzu Marinade

on Monday, 16 December 2013. Posted in Recipes, Sauces & Condiments

This quick marinade works best with fatty fish like salmon or Arctic char. Be sure not to marinate the fish for longer than a couple of hours, as the flesh will begin to cure. This will make enough marinade for four 6-ounce filets.
