Plum Smash Cocktail with Muscatel & Orange Blossom Honey Vinegar
Inspired by peak-season stone fruit in the markets, juicy plums are paired with Alemany Muscatel & Orange Blossom Honey Vinegar. The honey adds depth to the fruit’s sweetness and the vinegar brings a tart balance. Thyme brings a savory herbaceousness to the party, which also works well with the botanicals in the gin.

- 2 ripe plums, pits removed and roughly chopped
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cane sugar
- 4 sprigs thyme, divided
- 1 1/2 ounces gin
- 3/4 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon Muscatel & Orange Blossom Honey Vinegar from Alemany Mel y Turrón
Add the plums, sugar and 3 sprigs of thyme to the cocktail shaker. Muddle the ingredients in the bottom of the shaker with a muddler or wooden spoon, until the juices have released and the sugar has mostly dissolved. Add the gin, lemon juice and ice to above the level of the liquid and shake vigorously for 15 seconds. To serve, strain the mixture into chilled glasses and garnish with the remaining thyme sprig.
