2016 Harvest CA Extra Virgin Olive Oils Are Here
Strike Liquid Gold with 2 New EVOO
Calling all olive oil lovers—the 2016 harvest extra virgin olive oils from California are rolling in (and what a year!). Celebrate the current harvest with longtime best sellers like Séka Hills and Katz Organic Chef's Pick as well as new customer favorites like Bondolio.
Plus we've got two NEW extra virgin olive oils—Colline di Santa Cruz and Frantoio Grove—from Northern California to start pouring right now. Ready to taste?
Santa Cruz County, California
Colline di Santa Cruz is the epitome of a well-balanced oil—rich and buttery with notes of ripe olives and avocado with a gentle tickle of black pepper in the finish. A medium to robust oil.
Pour it on: Make a vibrant topping for fish and seafood—mix chopped citrus segments (blood oranges or cara cara oranges are lovely here) with a generous amount of olive oil, chopped parsley and a touch of gray sea salt.
Santa Clara County, California
Frantoio Grove Extra Virgin Olive Oil packs a punch of big, bold flavor with notes of artichoke, fresh herbs and bitter greens, and a building peppery heat that lingers on the palate. A robust oil.
Pour it on: This single-varietal olive oil is made for finishing. Cozy up with a rich, earthy bowlful of buckwheat polenta topped with a hearty pour of Frantoio Grove olive oil and a drift of grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
